To The Knot offers therapeutic massage and instruction in therapeutic massage, as described in the Massage and Classes tabs at totheknot.com.
2. Who We are
Our organization, To The Knot, is Robert Compton, co-owner and Illinois licensed massage therapist, and Anka Compton, co-owner and Illinois licensed massage therapist.
3. Minors Prohibited
To The Knot is for use by adults only. If you are not over 18 years of age, do not use this site. To The Knot is committed to protecting the privacy of children. You should be aware that this site is not for or designed to attract children. We do not collect personally identifiable information from any person we actually know is a child.
4. Medical Disclaimers
The content, services and instruction available through this site is for informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for the professional judgment of a health care professional in diagnosing and treating patients. To The Knot does not give medical advice, nor does it provide medical or diagnostic services. Additionally, the use of the content, services and instruction obtained through this site does not establish a physician-patient relationship. Your reliance upon content, services and instruction obtained by you from To The Knot is solely at your own risk. Always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. 5. Personal Information and Confidentiality
(a) You can visit our site without identifying or revealing any personal information about yourself.
(b) If you decide to use To The Knot’s services you will provide us personal information on a “Client Intake Form”.
(c) Client records and communications are regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party unless legally required by the appropriate authorities.
(d) You are required to provide your own personal information, as opposed to having a third party do so on your behalf. You hereby represent and warrant that the personal information will be current, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge at the time provided and that you will use reasonable efforts to update all personal information as appropriate or necessary. To The Knot disclaims any legal duty to verify the accuracy of any personal information you provide to us.
(e) We may display personal testimonials on our site in addition to other endorsements. With your consent, we may post your testimonial along with your name. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
7. Pricing, Payments and Cancellations
Pricing can be viewed on totheknot.com. Pricing is subject to change without prior notice.
Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card/debit card. However, a credit card/debit card is required to reserve an appointment.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we require a minimum 24-hours’ notice. Please call (847)-544-8577 or (312)505-0906 to cancel or reschedule. If you do not call to cancel or reschedule prior to the 24 hours before your appointment you will be charged full price for the scheduled service.
8. Limited Liability
Please read this section carefully, as it limits To The Knot’s liability. By accepting these Terms of Service and/or by booking or receiving any services provided by To The Knot, you acknowledge and agree:
(a) You understand that massage therapy is provided for stress reduction, relaxation, relief from muscular tension, and improvement of circulation and energy flow.
(b) If you experience pain or discomfort during the session, you will immediately inform your therapist so that pressure/techniques can be adjusted to your level of comfort. You will not hold your therapist or To The Knot responsible for any pain or discomfort you experience during or after the session.
(c) You understand that the services offered are not a substitute for medical care. You understand that your therapist or To The Knot are not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat physical or mental illness.
(d) You have notified your therapist and/or To The Knot of all known medical conditions and injuries.
(e) You agree to inform the therapist of any changes in your health and medical condition. You understand that there shall be no liability on the therapist’s or To The Knot’s part should you forget to do so.
(f) You understand that massage is entirely therapeutic and non-sexual in nature.
(g) You waive and release your therapist and To The Knot from any and all liability, past, present, and future relating to massage therapy.
9. Copyright, Ownership, and Use
All of the content on this site, including all text, photographs, graphics, images, videos, format, and other expressions is the property of To The Knot, or the suppliers of content. All of the above is protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. Any unauthorized or unapproved use of any of the content constitutes copyright infringement and subjects you to all civil and criminal penalties provided for under domestic and international copyright laws and treaties. A user of this site may only use the content for accessing and understanding such information for individual and personal use. No one may copy, make any reproduction or modification or any derivative work of the foregoing, and may not republish or display any of same, nor may any of same be linked to any other website unless such website provides acknowledgment of ownership of same in To The Knot or its third party suppliers or licensors.

We respect the copyrights and intellectual property of third parties, and we expect the users of this Site to do the same. If you believe there is any infringement of any other person’s copyright or intellectual property by this site, we request that you call it to our attention right away.
